THE ARCHIVE
Conceived as a concealed speakeasy within 32nd, The Archive draws inspiration from old-world European libraries and intimate English bars — spaces layered with memory, ritual and quiet discovery. Wrapped in dark timber panelling, arched thresholds and warm ambient lighting, the design creates the feeling of stepping into a forgotten reading room tucked behind a wall of books.
The project extended beyond interior design into furniture curation, product detailing and the design of bespoke bar collaterals that reinforced the narrative of the space. Inspired by vintage study objects and archival accessories, elements such as leather-bound menu covers, brass-accented caddies, custom bill trays, table lamps and bar utilities were designed to feel collected over time rather than conventionally branded.
Furniture and detailing were approached as an extension of the architecture — with bentwood chairs, intimate booth seating, library shelving and layered textures contributing to the immersive atmosphere. Rich wood grains, aged metals, stitched leather and soft pools of light were used to evoke the romance and intimacy of historic European hospitality spaces.
The result is a bar designed less as a venue and more as an experience of discovery — cinematic, nostalgic and deeply atmospheric.
